Thank you for visiting the official website of New Beginnings International Children's and Family Services, Inc. (New Beginnings for simplicity). We know that you have many decisions and choices to make if you learn you are pregnant, or when you are considering adoption for your child, and which adoption agency to contact, or to support through prayer, finance or volunteerism. New Beginnings, located in the Anna Grace Farmer Adoption Center at 2164 Southridge Drive in Tupelo, Mississippi , is a Christian adoption agency and was founded almost 25 years ago by Stephen and Evelyn Drury for the purpose of helping the good birth mother who found herself in the difficult situation of a teen pregnancy or unplanned pregnancy dilemma. New Beginnings also provides adoption services to loving families (only a few are listed on this site) who may not be able to become parents without the opportunity to be considered as parents by an extraordinary birth mother who, through no fault of her own, is unprepared for the challenges of parenthood at this time.
Domestic Adoption Services
The Erwin House and "The Genesis Program"
Debbie Velie , LBSW, who serves as New Beginnings' Domestic Program Director has lovingly provided adoption counseling services to birth mothers for almost 20 years. As the adoptive mother of two adult daughters, she understands the dilemmas and challenges you may be facing as either a good birth mother who wants to make the right choice, or as the adoptive family who desires to work with an adoption agency that truly cares about the birth mother, the children and the adoptive family. Debbie is assisted by Ms. Renae Hellen, LBSW, and other team members, who are compassionate and caring individuals.
The Adopting Angels of Mississippi promotion program (we serve all birth mothers; this is only the name of our in-state program) highlights the fact that good birth mothers deserve truthful and complete answers when they ask about adoption. Many out-of-state facilitators (non-regulated), out-of-state attorneys, and out-of-state agencies advertise in Mississippi without even telling you where their home office is located (this is in violation of state law). Others offer enticements and make empty promises. We encourage birth mothers to use discretion and wisdom when choosing an adoption service provider, and to verify the status of who you are working with through the Mississippi Department of Human Services and through the Better Business Bureau of Mississippi.
Pregnancy center services (housing, food, transportation, adoption planning and house parent care) and adoption counseling services are provided for birth mothers who choose to work with New Beginnings. The Erwin House Maternity Center is located in a peaceful and spacious setting in the Tupelo, Mississippi area and is home to many teenage and adult birth mothers. We also provide services to birth mothers outside the Tupelo, Mississippi area on a case-by-case basis.
Please do not be deceived by adoption facilitators and others who advertise themselves as providing adoption services, but who are not prepared to offer you the services of a licensed and accredited adoption agency.
International Adoption Services
NEPAL UPDATE: We are officially registered with the Nepal Ministry of Women, Children & Social Welfare to provide adoption services in Nepal. Please call Marcus at 662-842-6752 (business hours). 662-213-0369 (24/7) or click here to Contact Us. Please visit our International Program pages for more general information.
Marcus Davenport, LBSW, serves as the International Program Director and diligently works to provide the adoptive family with accurate and current information about our direct programs and the programs of our National Christian Adoption Fellowship partner adoption agencies. Through the NCAF partnership, New Beginnings is able to provide you with the opportunity to explore orphaned children adoption from almost 20 countries. As a 2 Year Accredited Hague International adoption agency, we are prepared to assist you with our National Christian Adoption Fellowship programs, or to assist you and the agency of your choice.
Home Study Services
New Beginnings also provides quality and responsive home study services for adoptive parents throughout Mississippi who are adopting domestically or internationally. We also provide home study services for individuals and families who are adopting privately, or through any licensed domestic or international adoption agency, in America .
"new beginnings" and New Beginnings
At New Beginnings we practice the words of II Corinthians 5:17, "...all things are become new." We believe that human life is sacred , and we believe that good birth mothers, precious babies, orphaned children and caring adoptive families deserve the opportunity for a "second chance" or a "new beginning."
Partnerships for "Life"
We believe that New Beginnings is an agency worthy of your partnership and support. We believe that "Every child deserves a forever family" and that children thrive best in loving, permanent God-honoring homes. Perhaps adopting a child is not your interest, but providing "life" and care for a precious baby, investing in the life of an overseas orphan, or helping a good teenage birth mother have a new start is what the Lord is leading you to do. If this is your desire, please contact me or one of our professional contacts to discuss the opportunities for an investment in life. We need and value your consideration and support.
Thank you for considering adoption and thank you for considering New Beginnings.
Tom Velie, LMSW, Executive Director
