We know you are in the midst of making very important decisions right now. We do not know what you are going through, or have gone through, in your life. However, our paths are intersecting today for reasons only God knows and we are praying for everyone involved.
Thank you for choosing life. That sounds like a line from a billboard, but we really mean it. Our hearts are reaching out to you to say that we sincerely thank you for making that choice. You are giving this child the opportunity to live out God’s plan.
We recognize that we are not a perfect family, but, we can ensure that the members in our home are loved and are given the chance to love in return. What we know is that we are committed to providing a home in which children are given a space to grow, thrive, make mistakes, learn, experience, and become who they are individually called to be.
Some of our highest priorities include our faith, our family, our health, love for each other, and love for others. We feel that we have been blessed so much and it is our joy to be able to bless others in return.
We are humbled that God has chosen to already give us the responsibility of caring for and raising two beautiful children. For many years, we have sensed God calling us to the blessing of adoption. We feel privileged to have created a book to show you a small snapshot of our lives.
We are grateful that you would consider our family to be a part of your adoption plan. We invite you to stroll through our profile book to get to know us better.
-B.J. and Manda
Meet our family: The members of our family include: B.J. (Dad), Manda (Mom), Kamea (daughter), and Brody (son).
We were married in 1999, approximately three and a half years after we met and started dating. We''''''''ve experienced many adventures together and look forward to our future as a couple and as a family. Faith, love, laughter, shared interests, common experiences, and commitment are all areas that we cling to in our marriage.
B.J. is an ordained minister, works as a hospital Chaplain, and manages the hospital''''''''s Spiritual Care Department. He enjoys being able to care for people in crisis and need, and strives to give those he encounters an experience of God''''''''s love. Manda works as a Communications, Marketing, and Design consultant. She is able to use some of her creative talents to work towards the good of the non-profit community.
We have chosen a non-standard work-week for the benefit of our family. Manda works from home with flexible hours and is able to care for the kids four days per week, while B.J. is at home caring for the kids one day. In the past, we have used an in-home childcare provider, at most one day per week. That provider was a close personal friend who was caring for only her children and ours.
We realize that the time that we have with our kids goes by so quickly. We have arranged our work schedules so that we can maximize the opportunities to spend time with them. We value the work that we do; however our family takes top priority. We invite you to take a look at our profile book to see more snapshots of our daily life that shows a little of what that really means to us.
Our House: We live in town in a diverse community close to parks, schools, and our church. Our living space is comfortable, enjoyable, and filled with laughter and love. We know that no matter what house we live in, or where it is located, “home” is where we are as a family.
About B.J. I love being a husband and a dad and find that these roles give me a lot of meaning, purpose, and fulfillment in my life. I think that being a husband and a father is a major part of who I am called to be. Thinking about my role as a dad brings a wide grin across my face. As a Christian, I find grace to be a big part of my life. I am grateful to God for life and the many ways in which I experience His goodness all around. The life God offers to us gives me reason to be joyful. I love being around people and also appreciate time spent with only my family or alone. Humor and laughing are a big part of my life. I am active, take pleasure in doing almost anything outdoors, like sports, and enjoy music.
About Manda: One of my greatest joys in this life is being a "Mommy", and I feel it''''''''s an honor to be able to care for one of His most precious gifts, His children. I am very active, energetic, and love to have fun. I have an optimistic and enthusiastic outlook on life that stems directly from my belief in, and relationship with, the Trinity of God. He extends His grace to me every day and my prayer is that my life will be a reflection of Him, mirroring His love, grace, and acceptance to my husband, children, family, friends, and others. In everything I do, I strive to keep a healthy balance. I love the outdoors (and just about anything you can do out there!), cooking (and I love to eat!), reading, serving others, exercising, and music. I am pretty creative and I highly value sharing time and hobbies with my family.
Our Children: Kamea: Kamea is six years old and is an energetic, caring, spunky, and loving girl. Kamea has a healthy imagination and loves to pretend, dress-up, dance, sing, read, learn, and understand the meaning of things.
Brody: Brody is three years old and is a fun-loving and sweet boy. He has a small shy streak, but lights up a room with his smile and laugh. Brody loves to be outside and his toy of choice is a ball of any kind.
