Terry and Suzy
Dearest Birthmother,
Our names are Terry and Suzy. We live in a small Midwestern town with
our two children, Ian age 12 and Kate age 8. Ian and Kate were our
foster children before their adoption. They have changed our lives
forever. Laughter and energy are in our home where only boring adults
use to live.
There is someone missing from our home, our hearts are incomplete. We
feel that God has given us the desire for a baby. Kate and Ian were
both older when they joined us. We have never had a baby that didn’t
have to go home at 5 pm. The children are so excited to spoil a new
brother or sister. Our family longs for a baby to love and cherish. Our
baby will never doubt that we love them. 
October of 1988 we began trying for a family. We had been married 8
months and felt it was time. In 1994, we were told that there was no
reason that we had not had a baby. The Ob/Gyn had given up and said
that we were a bad match. The following 5 years we went through testing
and treatments and nothing worked. The dark cloud that greeted us
everyday soon lifted.
I, Suzy, have a home based sales / consulting business and provide
daycare for 2 children from our church. Terry is a Safety Coordinator.
We are both active in our local church. We do our part but do not allow
extra duties take away from family time and our children. Terry and I
had to change our priorities when Ian and Kate moved to our home. We
guard our family time because there will always be church work to do
but our children will only be with us a short time. God is 1st, family,
church activities and other activities come last.
Having fun family time is very important to us. Our vacations are
planned around the children and their interests. Educational activities
are included in small, exciting doses. Our children have a vast amount
of opportunities available to them. Kate and Ian both love music
lessons and 4-H.
Our children attend the public school but it isn’t a regular school
experience. We live in my hometown and many of the teachers and
administration are also from here. Our school system has around 300
students pre-school through 12th.
Mother, I can only imagine what is going through your mind at this
time. I am proud of you for considering adoption for the precious life
growing within you. You have a choice. Our children’s mom wasn’t given
that chance. Our little family is praying for you. You are special,
don’t let anyone tell you any different! We are praying that God will
lead you and guide you through these uncertain times, easing the
physical and emotional pains and show you a bright new future.
