God’s Timing by Reverend Barron D. Price
Acts 15:18
Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
God’s providence and the beauty of His excellence are beyond the
meager efforts of mankind to fathom. While we struggle to find our
place and way in life, He has a plan that is perfect and glorious. When
we recognize the depth of His love, not only for us, but also for the
whole world, it is easy to place our complete trust in Him.
Three years into our marriage, God allowed us the thrill of
expectancy as we learned that we were with child. Due to complications,
our son was born prematurely, but God allowed him to develop healthily.
Two years later, we were blessed with another son, but after stern
warnings from the physicians, and much consternation from my wife, who
desperately wanted a daughter, it was determined that this should be
the extent of our family.
As year was added to year, the longing for a daughter intensified.
Every time my wife learned of an unwanted pregnancy her anticipation
would intensify that this could be her opportunity to obtain her great
desire to adopt, and raise a daughter. Time after time our hopes were
dashed.
After years of disappointment and a reservation to God’s will, something miraculous happened.
We contacted New Beginnings and miraculously, only two weeks later
we were made aware of an opportunity that sounded too good to be true.
In God’s time, He provided exactly what we had so longed for.
The circumstances surrounding our opportunity may appear to some as
coincidence. Others may view them as punishment or judgment, but God in
His mercy, glory, and majesty has a wonderful way of working all things
together for good to them who love the Lord and are the called
according to His purpose.
When we could not understand, God was fully aware when the time was
right. He knew all the time. And when we needed those loving arms of a
daughter, and loving hands to hold and guide, God provided them through
the unfortunate circumstances of another.
Words could never express the joys this loving birthmother gave to a
family, a church, a community and scores of individuals because she
chose life.
We anticipate the time when she too can receive the embrace from the
arms of this daughter who is so grateful to have been chosen into our
family.
Our daughter has known from her earliest days of the miracle she was to us. She proudly proclaims that she has two mothers.
For her senior paper, she chose to write on the subject of abortion.
She realizes that she could have easily been cheated out of her
opportunity to live. She took advantage of this opportunity to expose
the hideousness of many of the procedures in hopes that she might
inspire others to always choose life - so that loving arms can continue
to reach, and loving hands can touch and share God’s love.
