Tom Velie, LMSW, Executive Director - Tom has served as the Executive Director of New Beginnings since September 2002. He is the husband of Debbie, father of Cori and Shaina, and grandfather of Ethan Taylor and Ava Taylor. As an international adoptive father, he understands the highlights and the dilemmas of adoption. As a social work professional who has served the needs of children in temporary care situations for over 26 years, he is committed to seeing that every child has the most permanent home/family situation possible to them. As a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International, he understands the infinite value and price of adoption...an institution that was established by God. Tom is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi (MSW), the University of Mississippi (BSW) and Apostolic Bible Institute. Tom@NewBeginningsAdoptions.org
Marcus Davenport, LBSW, International Program Director- Marcus is a 2007 graduate of the
University of
Mississippi where he majored in Social Work. He is a licensed social worker. He became part of the New Beginnings ministry during the summer of 2007 as an intern and is currently serving as the International Program Director. Marcus@NewBeginningsAdoptions.org
Debbie Velie, LBSW, Domestic Program Director- Debbie's experience in adoption began with the arrival of her infant daughter, Corinne Renae, on September 7th, 1982. Debbie has served in youth work and residential group care work as houseparents (with her husband-Tom), as a foster parent to New Beginnings babies and as the Domestic Program Director for almost thirty years. Her genuine personality, combined with a real compassion for those in crisis pregnancy situations, makes her one of the best listeners a birth mother will ever meet. Debbie is a gradudate of the University of Mississippi, a Master Trainer for the National Council for Adoption's Infant Awareness Training program, and a highly respected part of the New Beginnings team. Renae Hellen, LBSW, International and Domestic Social Work Coordinator - Renae has been with New Beginnings since May 2007. She graduated in August 2007 with a Bachelor of Social Work from the
University of
Mississippi . At NBI, Renae coordinates the home study process for adoptive families across the state of
Mississippi . She also assists
Debbie Velie, Domestic Program Director, with domestic adoptions and work with birth mothers. In addition, she assists with the International Adoption Program as needed. Renae@NewBeginningsAdoptions.org
Tara Dillon, Conference and Camp scheduling, Raiser's Edge Developer - Tara has work for New Beginnings since 2001. She is the mother of 2 and enjoys being involved in various activites with her children. Tara loves promoting adoption and helping children find a forever family. Tara@NewBeginningsAdoptions.org
Brenda Vinson -
Brenda Vinson is the bookkeeper for New Beginnings. She has worked full time for New Beginnings since November 2002. She is a mother, adoptive mother and grandmother. She also does some traveling for New Beginnings to help promote the ministry. Brenda@NewBeginningsAdoptions.org
Dustin & Cori Taylor- Dustin and Cori are our care center houseparents. They have been with New Beginnings since 2003. They have two children, Ethan & Ava Grace. Cori@NewBeginningsAdoptions.org
